Kung Fu will live on…

Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series “Kung Fu” who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok. A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide.

I’ve been a fan of David Carradine ever since I saw the first Kung Fu series. Suicide seems unlikely, because anywhere you see people talking about him you hear about how full of life he was and how he loved to work. Then again, even very successful individuals have ended their lives that way for some reason.

R.I.P. David “Kwai Chang Caine” Carradine.

Nice…

I know a lot of time and effort went into this, and I think it was worth it.

Nostalgia online…

Amazing idea

youtube is putting together the first collabrorative online sympohony. Check it out here. Apparently, you can download the sheet music, recrod yourself playing, upload it, and, if you’re good enough, you will be invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.

I’m really interested to see what the results turn out to be. It would be great if it was full of non-professionals who just love to play and, of course, do a great job.

Commodore BASIC as a Scripting Language for UNIX and Windows - now Open Source

Today, we are releasing Commodore BASIC as a Scripting Language - it works on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X 10.4/10.5 (Intel and PowerPC), and you even get the source, so you can adapt it to other operating systems and CPUs.

Wow does this bring back memories. Find info about it here.

I remember booting up my old C64 and typing about a bunch of code that would be erased once the machine powered off, at least until we were lucky enough to purchase an external 5.25″ floppy to save stuff to. I wrote a program to keep track of baseball cards.
